Winter term is starting to wind down, but our tutors are gearing up. Catch several of them at various weekend events, including:
- Friday, January 27th’s Sights and Sounds art exhibition opening, which will feature music by the Grass Fed Kids (led by RWC tutors Jaron Gaier and Maggie Hayes) and Stumpy (a self-described “parasitoid” band featuring tutor Vernon Meidlinger-Chin) as well as a group led by tutor Michael McRae. The event goes from 6-9pm and will be held at the Bucktown Center for the Arts (225 E. 2nd St., Davenport).
- If you can’t make it to S&S, the Grass Fed Kids and Stumpy will also perform Saturday (1/28) at Chuckfest in Brew by the Slough. This “musical celebration” of Darwin and nature will go from 6-9pm.
- The play How I Learned to Drive, to be performed this weekend and next, also boasts RWC connections. It’s directed by Dr. Jennifer Popple, RWC faculty tutor and Adjunct Instructor of Theatre. Peer tutor Jo Vasquez also acts in this production.
Hope to see you at one or all of these great events!
