Password Reset and Synchronization: SSRPM

Back in May, ITS implemented a new password reset and synchronization tool for your convenience and account security.

Enroll in SSRPM or change your password at http://myaccount.augustana.edu

Please note that these two new features (password sync and password recovery) are only available to current students and employees with active Augustana login accounts.  Alumni continue to retain their Augustana Google Suite account, but they must set up their recovery information (personal email or cell phone number) to use it. To change your G Suite recovery info or password, log in to your Augie account and go to: https://myaccount.google.com/security

Password Synchronization

Since Monday, April 30, 2018, when you next change your Augustana network login password, the passwords for your Augustana Google email/Apps accounts will also change to be “in sync” with your new password.  This means that after your network password is reset, the following accounts will all have matching passwords:

  • Campus computer login
  • Arches
  • Moodle
  • Google email
  • Google calendar
  • Google Drive password  

If you are using Office 365 (learn how to set up an account for free!), this password will also change to be “in sync.”  Therefore, if you have any devices that have the password stored for quick access, you will want to update these passwords on all these devices (i.e. mobile phones or tablets) when you change your Augustana network login password.

 Password Recovery

The ITS department is also rolling out a new software that will allow users to change their Augustana password without the assistance of ITS.  This recovery will be very helpful on evenings or weekends if you need to reset your email or login password.  Therefore, the ITS department strongly suggests that users enroll in this new software feature as soon as possible. Enrolling in the software now will not change your current password; however, it will allow you to reset your password if the need arises – again, even outside of ITS office hours.  Enrolling entails providing a recovery cell number, alternate non-Augie email address, and/or answering security questions in order to recover your password automatically.

We encourage all users to enroll now. To enroll in this new password recovery feature, go to https://myaccount.augustana.edu and click “Enroll in the password recovery system.”
