Today was a day of breath-taking events. After an early rise we went to see one of the most photographed statues in the world, Monumento do Cristo Redentor, or the Christ Statue. After a long wait in line and a card scan, we were traveling up Corcovado mountain.

Wednesday in Jundiai started out with a trip to the supermarket that was an eye-opening experience for all of us. With no one there to translate we had to struggle through the check out without Portuguese being spoken (at least by us).

Well here we are, sitting in the airport about to board the plane. Everyone drove in safely and on time, coming from around Chicago and the Quad Cities. Well everyone except Jake Norcia. He ended up at the wrong terminal, but eventually he found his way through the airport and met up with us.
