A window inside life at Augustana College

What a crazy life!

So, I had planned on talking about my France trip in this blog but I just don’t have the time now so you will have to wait until next week!  This has been another wild, exhausting week and it’s not over yet.  Just to explain how busy it is: I’m doing homework on a Saturday night at 10:15.  What fun.  But you have to do what you have to do.  I’m currently working on a paper about hunger in America.  It’s actually really interesting and the paper is kinda fun to write!  I don’t get to say this often!

I volunteered at a food pantry this morning which is in conjunction with my learning community.  A learning community is usually a couple of classes and the goal is for you to experience new aspects of the community or world (foreign terms count for your learning community).  We have to volunteer a total of 27 hours by the end of the term (which averages out to 3 hours a week).

The food pantry I volunteer at is only for 2 hours so I’ve had to pick up extra hours.  Last night I volunteered at the Hot Air Balloon Festival in East Moline by collecting food and donations for the River Bend Food Bank.  It was tons of fun!!  I was surprised how much people were willing to give.

After the food pantry this morning I went over to my Aunt and Uncle’s house in Davenport to have lunch and visit with family 🙂  It was so nice to see everyone and just relax.  Plus, the food was delicious!

Well, I better get back to my homework.  My friend is turning 21 tomorrow so we’re going out to dinner and I want to have all of my homework (or at least most) done before we go out!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!  Until next time 🙂
